ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2020 – SHAREHOLDERS’ MEETING EXTENDED INCLUSION
In relation to the new regulatory framework, aimed at containing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and the ongoing emergency, the Company has decided to take advantage of the option, established by the Law Decree of 17 March 2020, to provide in the notice of call that the participation of those entitled to vote in the Shareholders' Meeting takes place exclusively through the Designated Representative, pursuant to art. 135-undecies Legislative Decree No. 58/1998 (CFBA), without physical participation by the shareholders.
In other words, the next Shareholders' Meeting is expected to take place behind closed doors.
Therefore, taking into account the above, all the services that were planned under the Shareholders Meeting Extended Inclusion program (SMEI) will not be provided.
On this occasion, we would like to thank all those who had expressed their voluntary participation in the initiative.
In order to overcome the physical, communicative and sensorial barriers that may prevent the participation of some shareholders in the General Meeting, Generali has launched, since 2016, the Shareholders' Meeting Extended Inclusion (SMEI) program. Supported by the enthusiasm and dedication of the volunteers of our Group, the SMEI Program has developed over time, through the provision of a growing number of services, always oriented towards the inclusion of all shareholders with respect to that central moment in the life of the Company which is the Annual General Meeting.

The SMEI Program has been planned also for the Annual General Meeting of April 30, 2020, to facilitate the use of space and the interaction of shareholders with motor and auditory difficulties or who are visually impaired, also due to mere aging. In this perspective the program has been integrated with the live streaming service of the speeches of members of top management, completed with the availability, during the live transmission, of translation in Italian sign language (LIS) and subtitles in Italian.

In addition to the reception at the entrance to the site of the General Meeting, a reserved check-in station and a path dedicated to people with motor disabilities have been planned: in-hall assistance has been scheduled to be provided, as usual, by volunteers from the Generali Group and by qualified social-health professionals. An ENS (Ente Nazionale Sordi – National Agency for the Deaf) telephone number for those auditorily impaired, a translation service in Italian Sign Language and subtitling in Italian, with projection on the screens in the Meeting rooms, have been planned.
Upon request, additional services were to be provided, such as the assistance of qualified personnel and/or care support for those who attend the Meeting proceedings with their own wheelchair, a wheelchair available at the Meeting venue and/or ergonomic-orthopaedic cushions to improve posture.
